Our School

Wyoming Public School was established on its present site in 1969. The school's site provides park-like grounds with flat playing fields adjoining our own rainforest. Nestled in the rainforest is Wingello Cottage, our parent room. Programs implemented in 2000 reflect the school's vision to provide a dynamic learning environment where staff and parents help children: feel happy and secure; enjoy learning; strive to achieve their potential; experience success, and care for themselves, others and the environment. The school has a strong commitment to strengthening community participation. Staff worked collaboratively with other local government and non-government agencies to better support the students and the Wyoming Public School community. In 2000 the school received additional financial, staffing and consultancy support from the Disadvantaged Schools Program. This program complements the school's focus on literacy and numeracy.
